!!0xco190036!! (icardie.dll) This shows everytime i start up my pc. I can get to the F8 screen to select last known config or run in safe mode, but when i do access it, it seems not to go back to a restore point nor last known config. If this not showing up, i think i will be good.

If this is an error message
Click start control panel administrative tools computer management then select event viewer depending on what operating sytem you have this may vary

extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured you might have to uninstall then reinstall the program and its files

uninstall the program, reboot your computer, and then install the latest version again from scratch.

until you know what the problem is you cant fix it or you might try
you could run the check disk utility

click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule to happen when you restart your computer then defragment your hard drive
another way of running the chkdsk utility
click start control panel administrive tools, computer management ,disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now, start should schedule this task when restart
do not do anything while chkdsk is in process any input may damage your computer
or you might download and use this registry cleaner it is totally free to use
http://download.cnet.com/ccleaner/
hope this helps

STOP: 0x0000000024 that is the error message I am receiving and can't seem to get past the screen that gives you the option to start in safe mode

if this happens when starting to boot to Windows, try last known-good config. When system is restarting, tap F8 a couple of times to get to the Advanced Options menu where Safe Mode is also listed. Select Last Known-Good Configuration if available and press Enter. If this does not work, try selecting Safe Mode. If you can get to Safe Mode, you can try System Restore to a previous restore point available when your system is working properly. If none of the things work, try Windows repair or reinstall. Make sure to try to backup data if you can before doing any reinstall or repair.

Won't boot up

hi there mike, have you tried using safe mode? once you gain access to windows safe mode try to perform system restore. click start then all programs then accessories then system tools then system restore. select a date that you could remeber that the computer is working fine. that should solved the issue. Now, if same error happened after choosing safe mode. then i recommend to use the recovery disk that came with the system for you to be able to use your computer again. thanks!

I am trying to boot up and I get as far as the windows welcome page and told to wait one moment then the screen goes black and never comes back...

Try switching to safe mode (F8) and see if it boots that way...if it does then one of the start up programs is hanging. Type in Start / run / msconfig and untick all programs except antivirus and adaware program / Reboot and when screen shows with having altered strt up menu simply tick the box.

If still no go then go into safe mode and choose in the CMOS menu "start with last best known config" and boot.

If still no go then the windows registry is corrupt requiring a repair / reload.

My computer froze during shut down, so I turned it off using the power button. When I start it up It gives me the options of starting normally, Last known good configuration, safe mode safe mode with...

Try go into BIOS by hitting the DEL key or F1 or F2 as you start and go to save Cmos config. then reboot.
The other approach is Last known Good config is the best. This can be brought up after presing power button then by tapping F8 till screen apears.. Select Last known Good Config
