The only driver i could find ( i dont 100% know if it will work) is on a site called driver guide.com It requires you sign up for a free account before it lets you download it and that link is at

SOURCE: Targus mouse not recognized
What is the OS of your computer? This Targus mouse would work with Win 98, Win 2000 and Win XP. Vista was not mentioned. And if you are running Windows Vista for you laptop, then that could be the reason why it was not recognized by the computer.
Is this the wireless optical mouse? If yes, you need to follow the steps below to isolate the problem:
1. Connect the USB receiver into different USB ports of the computer.
2. Replace the batteries with the fresh ones.
3. Try connecting the mouse into different computer to see if you've got a defective mouse.
If you've tried everything and got the same problem, you may need to refer to the manufacturer, because I'm not sure if this mouse is a Plug-n-Play device or if it needs a driver.
Have a great day!
