Please check the cartridge page yield before procuring it. Check the cartridge part number last digit, if it is suffix with "A" it will only last 1400 page yield, if it is lasting with "AD" it will last up-to 2000 page yield. Also double check the toner cartridge is originally made by HP. No chance for logic fault.
SOURCE: I have repalced red cartridge in CP1215 laser
I am not familiar with the model, but the toner cartridges I use have a tab you have to pull that is attached to a long plastic strip that releases the toner. This has to be removed before you can use the cartridge. Just asking to be sure.

Details: This has been an ongoing problem since new, however, most factory installed cartridges have a shortened life output and not paying attention to replacing toner cartridges the warranty has expired before pursuing assistance. Could this be a mainboard/logic unit isseu?
We are using HP toner cartridges (ending in "A") and we are on the fourth replacement for each of the colours. Interestingly, if you view the printer toner statistics, for example, the printer says there are 924, 782, 1044 and xxxx pages of toner remaining and you print 4 or 5 pages, the numbers drop to 345, 231, 844 and xxxx. I have been monitoring this each time before and after printing, after replacing cartridges the last two times.
