Mitsubishi VS-6071 60" Rear Projection TV Problem

TV picture goes black for 10-30 seconds, then the picture comes back.

This started a few weeks ago, and now the frequency is increasing to where this problem now occurs every few minutes.

I have a vs-60609 60"

Sounds like a Picture in Picture screen popping up, but if you do not have a signal from another tuner, it will be blank.

Try hitting the PIP button on your remote to see if it turns it off and on.
Plus go into the tv menu and find the PIP settings.

Mitsubishi VS-60111 video blink

I would check for Bad solder joints around the flyback, and the verticle and horizontal yoke plugs for starters. Lower your volume and listen if you hear the high voltage come back up when your video comes back up. Let me know what you discover when you check the solder joints.

Projection guns not working

I've seen a lot of vertical problems on those older mitsu's. If it has been intermitant some of those would get bad solder connections on the deflection yoke ( the transformer slid up on the neck of the picture tubes) ther are three and it could be any one. the thing about it is you have to slide it down and take it apart to get to the area that would get the bad connections. If you do not know what you are doing the setup afterwards could be a mess. This is the first thing that comes to mind but be warned there are many many possibilities for what you are describing. good luck
