Timex 1440 after install of new battery, I can set the alarm, but it doeswn't make the beeping noise while setting it, nor does it beep audiolly when the alarm goes off.

Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

Section 4 deals with the chime.

Press the MODE button until you get to the AL (ALARM) screen. Press Start/Split (Stop/Reset) (upper right button) repeatedly to turn the alarm and chime are off. If that did not help the manual can be found at www.timex.com at the bottom of the page click on manuals/downloads, click on manual downloads go to Digital Chrono/Alarms/Timers and click on the manual. Press and hold SET, then press START/STOP. This should turn the chime on. Press it again to turn on the alarm.

hello,if you have the little circle window on the left of your face,that will tell you if the alarm and chime are on.
to turn them off you must push and hold the lap/reset button and at the same time push the st./stop button:
1 time takes of the chime-hourly beep
2 times takes off the alarm tha you set
3x's puts the chime back and 4x's puts the alarm back on.

Press and hold the top left button (mode) until the numbers start blinking. On mine this is the alarm time set. Press the mode button one more time to get to time set. The hour will be blinking. Press top right button (start/stop) to cycle through hour, minute, date, etc. and press bottom right button (adjust) to change the number which is flashing. Press mode to finish.

To turn off alarm, press and HOLD Adjust button, then press Start/Stop to cycle through alarms on/off.

hold adjust button down at same time press mode and start/stop button until it beeps.

in order to unset the military time on the watch you must hold down the two top buttons until the the 12 hour format comes back. in order to turn off the alarm you must hold down the two right buttons until they beep..and then the alarm will go off
