American Standard Cadet 2-handle tub & shower set-Model#3275 - low pressure output

We just installed this new tub and shower set and the pressure output is just a trickle. All other water pressure in the house is normal. Could this have anything to do with how far the cartridges are screwed in before the handles are installed?

When you installed the new tub faucet you probably turned off the water to that faucet of even the whole house. IF IT IS AN OLDER HOUSE, TURNING THE WATER OFF AND BACK ON CAN LOOSEN SOME DEBRIS IN THE WATER LINES THAT CAN FIND THEIR WAY TO YOUR NEW FAUCET. If there is a screen at the end of the water outlet it can be clogged with gunk. Uncrew the screen on the water outlet and clean. You may also want to flush out the hot and cold outlets by turning the water off, removing the cartigages and slowly let water flush them out. Then reassemble. Also when you have the tub handles out you can turn the hot and cold supply valves off and on a few times to loosen more debris if it exsists........Joe

No water flow from new american standard marquette showerhead

I think fitting of your shower is not proper. You have to fit it properly if you can or you can call a nearest Plumber to solve your problem.

No hot water pressure

These types faucets have a what is called an anti scald valve build into them, it is required by law, it is either defective or out of adjustment, contact a local hardware store for more detailed info.

I have a one handle shower/tub faucet, and when you run straight hot water (to preheat for example) the water shuts itself off. Lever is still in the lifted/on position however. Cold is fine, even warm...

If this is a newer valve what is probably happening is the valve is a scald guard valve and is shuting itself off when it senses no pressure on the cold side. I don't have a lot of experience with am. std. valves but I'm sure you can get instruction on line to set heat setting on valve higher. Thank you.

Water will not flow through on american standard with pressure balance. Some hot water came out with low pressure then stopped and now nothing will flow.

I just spent a week wrestling with a similar problem, and I'm posting in an attempt to save someone else an ulcer. Using a Colony single-handle valve, the temperature got so we couldn't control it. Either all hot or all cold. I called A.S. and they sent a new pressure balancing cartridge and new valve cartridge. Replaced both and then there was no water at all coming out of the shower head. Tried every possible combination of old and new parts, flushed pipes, etc. Finally took the shower head off and found it completely clogged with debris. It was a mix of sediment and the white grease that was in the new cartridges, which must have been displaced when I started messing with it. And it clogged it all at once (no flow problems before all of this). Works fine now!

Single knob for shower and tub wont stop running

You may have debris caught in the cartridge. I'm not sure which faucet you have but if it utilizes a ball, there is a retaining ring that is either grey or white that you have to tighten. If not, I would recommend contacting American Standard. You might have a bad cartridge or missed replacing another part. Sometimes they have small round washers at the back of the housing that need to be replaced as well.

American Standard Cadet model 3275 - Plastic piece inside of pipe

Yes, there is a non-replaceable plastic restrictor device screwed into the tub spout outlet of the faucet body. It's purpose is to force the flow down to the spout for when the spout diverter is not closed. It keep water from rcoming out of the shower head when the tub spout is also discharging.

This is all fine and dandy where the water supply is clean without sediment. A co-worker of mine had one of these and old galvanized piping. After 3 years, it clogged up. She got a 'deal' from a handyman plumber to replace with an identical faucet. She will have the problem again. If she had spent the money to fix it right, she would have had a single handle mixing valve put in. If it clogs, you can just pull the cartidge from the body, clean it and put it back in. Now she will have to cut into the wall again, get the plumber to replace the 2 handled unit and patch the wall again.

Or, she could have the plumber drill out/remove the restrictor but then she might get water out of both outlets at the same time....."pay me know or pay me later"....repalcing the mixing valve with a scald prevention single handle valve (with remodel plate) is the BEST long term solution.

All you should need to do is remove the shower head and make sure that their isnt any dirt obstructing the opening ,also if their is a restrictor like you said you need to remove it.This should make a big difference.
