Sony Cybershot DSC P31

I have had the camera for a couple of years and always been a good camera. Recently went to take a pic and everything seems to work but the camera will not take a pic. I can view the memory stick or browse through the menus but when I push the button to take a pic or video nothing happens.

    hi, a have almost the same problem here, my camera was working fine an all of the sudden it flashed a message telling me to turn on and off the camera, i did several times and the message still appears. It doesnt let me take pictures and i´ve reseted the camera twice and still get the same error. what can i do?

You have to check the CCD and this can be faulty. The picture may look hazy or lines mayy appear randomly.

Sony cybershot takes black pics

it seems like CCD failure to me bcoz if everything is working and u get black pics it sounds like this , pls go for warranty claim if u have one otherwise contact support centre in ur area they will replace the CCD for a charge , i am not sure abt the price pls rate me even i was unable to solve ur problem remotely bcoz it is a hardware failure which nobody can help
but i am pretty sure about it

what do you mean nothing happens???
the memory stick pro duo should fit right into the sony cybershot....
if your struggling to load your photos onto your computer buy a universal memory card reader!
you should try and use a memory stick in a camera that needs an sd though!

Sony cybershot dsc-n1 took 6000 pics and stopped working Screen went white before died with lense extended no sign of power next cybershot DSC-N2 took 15,000 pic and died just refuses to turn on. no power...

no non of sony cameras come with any life pan
ya they are telling something baout life cycle
but i have cybershot with 29000 pic and my friend is having about 20000 so if your cameras is in warrenty period then go to sony service station they will fix it
or if you r out of warranty period then go for repairing your camera probebly changing CCD of your camera will fix this problem

Everything blurry

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following link for more info:
