Using my Windows Media Player, I can't delete files from my mp3 player. I loaded some files by mistake and I can't get them out. In my Windows Media Player, the files that I want are listed, but, my mp3 player still lists the files that I don't want. I've tried everything. I can't even "format" to erase everyting so that I can start new. With my device connected to my computer, I went to "my computer" and then to "removable devices" to delete the files, but all the music files are still in my mp3 player. What can I do??? Monica.

I had the same problem, all you have to do is first turn on the Mp3.Then go to settings. Then go down to USB mode. It will probably say, auto detect. But instead scroll down to MSC. If that doesn't work try MTP.

What I would recommend you to do is to make sure that your device is under MTP mode instead of MSC...to do that go under menu, setting, usb and then there should the two mode listed there...then you want to plug your device in the back of your computer..not in the front..tghat is very important....once you do that..open up your windows media player...click on your start thee sync panel..if your device is recognize properly it will be showing there on the right side..and if its not listed properly, it will say connect a device..if thats the case..click on your start menu right click on computer and then click on propetties, click under hardware and then device manager..your device should be showing there...check under disk drives to see if your device is showing there and if it doesnt you want to right click and hit uninstall...we dont want your device to be under disk drive ..we want it to be under windows portable device...once you uninstall it...go to http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/index.asp and find the driver for your device..and then connecct the device on the back of your computer...it should work properly..if you are still having any problems..let me know..i would be more than happy to assist you..
Please rate accordingly

Once you have connected the mp3player to your computer and open windows media player open the device tab. You should see your device listed there. Or you can look in My computer from the Windows Start tab. You should get on screen directions from there.

open up my computer and go to the drive for your device (like mine is E: for my sansa E250, but yours may vary). just browse around the folders until you find where your music is stored and delete it from there.
