Make sure its not set to Auto. Also check for a fuse in the back. Unplug the amp side and with the sub plugged in touch the RCA. You should hear noise from sub. Try this last. Some may say this is not good for the sub. Im in the business and never have seen it cause a problem
Apparently blown fuses are common with these amps (after googling). I assume it is related the power supply as I shorted over the fuse and fried the Caps on the board. Supposedly you could get the fuses at rat shack prior to their closing the stores.
You can remove the screw near the volume knob and the screw near the on/off switch - then slide out the amp remove the black and white wire - then check the fuse - if its blown look for we repair amps - ebay - if its good then it probably still needs work - it should turn red when plugged in and no signal and green when signal is present - which means amp is on.
If you can watch the fuse kind of twitch. Most likely you have somthing shorted in your output amps. ( the ones on the heatsink underneath PCB) you'll probolly need a tech for this one to change out the transistors. Still under warranty?
Did you find a solution? Dunno if it's much help, but I just today picked up some 501s - Series I I think - ugly heavy brown material grilles - but with a manual! No fuses in these, but booklet recommends installing your own in-line fuse holders (!?). Specifies a BUSS AGC-3 fuse for amps under 50wpc; or a MDL-2 fuse for amps over 50 wpc. Can be placed is series with either or the two signal wires. Very strange....

first fuse as standard is in the plug to the power adapter. The second fuse is located at the back of the box where the power lead goes into. It is covered so look closely you just need something flat to open it. I have the S750 and that is what im basing this on but if the s700 is the same then you will find this helpful. Sorry did not notice this before.

Double check the connections, if the connection for the control pod is good then something is wrong inside. I would say most likely thing would be a problem on the power supply inside the subwoofer box.
