Stove glass top heating element

A blacksmith may be able to make the parts for you. Being over 70 years old, I doubt there will be any spares left.

tes you can use 3 prong the left and right wires go on left and right terminals on stove middle wire goes in the middle.

What is the complete model number of your unit? Look inside the door area.

THe glass top is just that, glass! If the elements beneath it are not producing enough heat your utensils will not cook. Pull off the glass top by removing fasteners (either in the front of the stove or under the back panel of the stove). Then, turn on each electric burner to see if it turns RED hot. If not, wait till everything COOLS and reseat each heating elememt and retest those that failed. If that doesn't solve the problem, you can buy heating elements at Home Depot or other stores...

You most likely have either a faulty thermistor or heating element that will need to be replaced.

You probably have a 1940's model of Magic Chef. Check for the model number under the lid of the cook top on the upper right hand side of the stove. It should have the model number and the serial number, too. You will need both. The Old Applicance Club run by Jack Santoro is the place to go along with a site called "Antique gas stoves"in Georgia. This part can cost over $400. It is usually not worth fixing. NEVER operate the stove with a cracked top. This is tempered glass and it can just explode! It is also a dangerous electrical issue. Liquid can drip down through the crack and contact the live open element.
