R200 will not print black color

All other colors come out perfectly except black.
Printed nicely on larger fonts and bold test prints for colors
grey, yellow, olive, fuchia and blue but not for black.

Any ideas. Ink levels are okay. Tried Printer Utility trouble-shooting
in Windows properties i.e. Nozzle cleaning etc. Nothing I tried helped.
Is there a easy way to manually clean the print head for the black inkjet flow to clear? (puzzling that the other colors did not have a problem)

Anyone's help is appreciated.
Thanks
Peter

Sounds like maybe the chips on the cartridges aren't making proper contact. Have you tried removing the black cartridge and reinserting?

How long did it take you to replace all the color cartridges? If it sat uncapped for very long, the black may simply be clogged. Often a few drops of Windex with Ammonia D (not the lemony stuff!) on the purge/park pad will do it.

With the lid up turn it on, and as soon as the heads are unparked pull the plug. Very gently, slide the print head out of the way. With an eyedropper, put a few drops of Windex with Ammonia D on the park pad, enough to make it obviously damp but not overflowing. If it is all gummed up, you'll need to clean it. In that case look here for more detailed instructions:
http://www.polyphoto.com/tutorials/PrintHeadCleaning/

My printer cleaning site is kind of rough, I wrote answers to others and got tired of retyping and just saved a few.

If the park pad is not all gummed up, then gently slide the print head all the way back over the park pad. As you do, the park pad automatically comes up under the print head so don't worry about it drying out. Leave it for a few hours or overnight before plugging it in and turning it on again, then run a cleaning cycle and try a nozzle check.

Never run more than 3 cleaning cycles in a row without printing -something-, even if it is just a nozzle check. And never -ever- move the print head manually while the printer is plugged in.

Deskjet 1050A is not printing black. Help?

Hello,

The black ink cartridge is cloged or empty. Try to refill it in case of empty, or clean in case of cloged ( left the printhead for 1 hour in clean solution or in hot water if you don't have )

All the best !

The printer driver must be set to print text with the K resin panel.
If the text is part of a bitmap image and not a true-type font then it will print from the coloured panels and be dark grey.
To create the correct green on the card you need to change the RGB values so it prints correctly but look wrong on the badge design program. Even different printers print the same colour differently.

I have a Canon PIXMA MP780. It won't print except

If you can print the nozzle test then that proves most of the electronics, it could be the driver is screwed.
Since you can get something out that is intelligent e.g. the larger font lettering then it is processing the file sent to it.
By that I mean rasterising it, converting it to dots of ink, so it can print onto the page as the heads moves back and forth.
Why not try another computer and connect your printer to that one, or try a different file, or even send it a file you've printed successfully in the past before you started to have this problem.

Black printing is printing in pinks and mauves.

try and print a document from word with different text colors say blue green and red then in bold check text in black. this will give you a clue to what is happening to the colors.

The printer prints fine in black, but will not print in color.

try to make a color copy from the all-in-one and if it prints good, then try to print a test page from the computer and check whether the color is printing or not, if the color is printed then check whether the print in grayscale option is enabled or not, if it is enabled please disable it.

Canon i560s prints all colors except black

I had a similar problem and found out that you have to specify printing on plain paper. If you choose paper other than plain paper, it will make the black from other colors. Check also that all of your cartridges are seated properly. My magenta was not pushed all the way down so I got green instead of black ink when it mixed the colors to make black.

Empty ms word printout

Hi, You can try: 1. go to Start, Printer and Faxes, right click on your 3745, click on Properties, Printing Preference; 2. Check to see if you have any Advanced tab or button; 3. Check if you can set the printer to text only; 4. Check if you can set the printer to use black ink only. 5. In MS Word, verify through the use of Print Preview that your document is as you would want to be printed; 6. In some instances you may have to set manually text color in MS Word. While your document is open, click Ctrl + A to select all, then choose font color to "Black". Alternately, in your MS Word, you can click on "Format", "Font", "Font Color" set to "Black" rather than "Automatic" and set this as the "Default" setting. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
