Samsung SyncMaster 2233bw monitor refuses to work at all

The power and vga cables are properly connected and the power strip it's plugged into is turned on and producing power. Even with this, I am unable to turn my monitor on at all. I don't get a blinking power light, a quick image on the screen, nothing at all. If anyone has any ideas, I would be really grateful.

This usually indicates a failure in the power supply board. Here is a link to a repair kit for that board.

I hope that helps, if so please rate my solution.

Acer Aspire 5536 only gives black screen when i connect power supply

  • Nothing is more annoying than a monitor that refuses to turn on. Make sure your Acer monitor is plugged in to a functioning outlet. If it's plugged into a power strip, try replacing it with a new one or moving the plug to a different outlet. Ensure that both ends of the power cable are plugged in firmly and securely, and that the connection to the monitor is not loose.
Cable Issues
  • Your Acer LCD monitor will usually accept DVI and VGA inputs. If you have an older computer, a VGA cable should work fine. If it doesn't have a VGA port, you'll need to obtain an inexpensive DVI to VGA adapter at your local computer store. A DVI cable, however, is compatible with most modern computers and offers superior picture quality over VGA. Make sure you're using the cable that's compatible with your system, and that you have the proper conversion adapter, if necessary.

Check signal cables means there's no signal on input. If your PC still shows up on a different monitor then it's a time to replace a mainboard in your monitor.

Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW does not support TV / Cable input (RF Connector).
If you wish to connect Cable to the LCD, you have to buy a TV Box and connect Cable with your LCD through TV Box. (Cable TV to TV BOX and from TV BOX to LCD)

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

I have a SyncMaster 2232BW monitor hooked to my pc, the blue power button comes on when power on, my computer POST appears for about a second then vanishes leaving only bright lights on display, none of...

Seems that you may have the wrong type of video selection theres a button for auto sensing the type of connection. if your video cable is blue then you have an analog connection, white video cable is a digital connection you just need to ensure that the monitor is set to the proper selection.

Describe your SyncMaster 753S (Ivory) 17" CRT Monitor Problem - the red colour is missing, only Y & B combination is displayed

This is probably a bad connection. Look in the back of the monitor to the VGA cable (one besides the power cable). Check the connection and make sure it's plugged in well. Then, follow the cable to the back of your computer and make sure it is plugged in well there as well.
With what you described, this is the problem most of the time. Other than that, it may be a bad cable, in which case you need to get a replacement VGA cable.
Thanks for using FixYa.

The sceen wont turn on the little light is flashing but the sceen doesnt turn on the computer is perfectly on but sceen doesnt see that >.>

First make sure that your VGA cable comming from the back of your monitor is still connected to your computer, check both sides on the back of your copmputer and your monitor if they are both in then maybe your cable is bad.

Floating box says check signal cable

plug the blue cable connection into the VGA port (also blue) on the back of the PC and then turn it on. If you have multiple VGA ports and it doesn't work the first time try the other port.

If the cable is white check that you have a white DVI port on the back of your PC and use that port.
