there is now Sony Vaio Laptop available with model number PCG-3A8P. Please provide the correct model number so that we can search for user manual for detailed information.

However wireless can be turned on by switch available on the sides of the laptop or on front of the laptop.

Try using WEP key encryption comparitively it is more stable

Firstly, are you trying to use your wireless internet or someone elses?

Because if it's someone elses, thats exactly why they've put the password on so that other people can't use their connection.

However, if it's your wireless network you're trying to connect to, then it would be worth using your wireless cd software to change your password to something you know or to take it off completely (not reccomended as others can use your connection). You can put the cd in your own laptop and change the password.

Netgear is quite tricky as is with all other routers, but I don't think the router is your problem. Try to do the following.

1) Turn off Vaio laptop
2) unplug router
3) unplug modem
4) plug back in modem - wait for it to boot up
5) plug back in router - wait for it to boot up
6) turn back on the Vaio - log in and see if it sees the SID. If it isn't broadcasting, you might have to enter it in manually and select connect to non broadcasting network

All this are listed after you type the ipconfig/all command.

Hi, im sure the PCG-K315M dont have a built in wireless card, You can buy a Usb wireless card for about 20-30 pounds from any shop. If your laptop did have wireless onboard there should be a switch on one of the sides of the laptop,
