Try taking out the battery and leaving it out overnight. Then put back and try to charge again. Chances are your battery has malfunctioned or maybe the charger is faulty.

Does it notify when is charging? Does it turn on when you connect the charger? The Prism and Prism2 was one of the worst mobile phone by T-Mobile. It couold be one of the 3 here: 1. Charger not working. 2. Battery not charging. 3. Phone bricked
Dont talk or use mobile phone when the phone is charging its battery and charge your mbbile battery for 10 hrs continusly before intinal use Only Charge your mobile when it shows " LOW BATTERY " Dont over charge your mobile Use the mobile to talk only when the network signal is high else use sms facility to communicate Use only original charger to charge the battery
it seems you have not charged your cell for initial 24 hrs and used the mobile as per the policy of every mobile company. Anyway, switch off your mobile and keep it on charging for next 24 hrs. In case it doesnot works after that also, go for replacement with the vendor.
remove the battery for 10 minutes, then put it back and charge ur phone for 8 hours. turn on the phone only after that, If the phone turn on when u charge, that's ok, continue charging
