When I play games on my PS3 on my Vizio in 720p the screen will intermittently flash black and then back to the game. This only happens with the PS3 and in 720P. I have tried 2 PS3's with the set. Both do the same. This does not happen with XBox in 720p. Both of the PS3's are the older "fat" models. I have tried the other HDMI ports and have switched HDMI cables as well. It's a minor annoyance but it is quite irritating.

This problem is actually called Ghosting.
Ghosting is what happens during high action scenes or during any scenes that have low light.
There's really no way to fix it other than getting a better tv. Vizio isn't really the greatest.
The video processor on the Vizio is unable to keep up with the input and it creates ghosting.

If you use the hdmi input from your cable box and select either the HDMI1 or HDMI2 input setting it should automatically change based on the channel transmission resolution.
All this is currently controlled by the cable providers set top boxes, and depends on whether you have purchse the Hi-Def programming packages.
Hope this helps you.
