You can reset it using a soft or hard reset. The following instructions provide you with information on how to reset the
Nokia 5130 using both methods.
The soft reset is often the better option if you are worried about losing
data. There is a chance the soft reset will also default to the factory
settings,
but there is a bigger chance that it will not. With a soft reset you
will enter in *#7380#. This tends to clear any pending errors and on
most
phones it will help your phone work properly.
- Hard Reset
- The code for Hard Reset is *#7370#. Enter these digits into the phone
and press yes to confirm. This will start the initialization process.
Make certain you have already saved all important data. You do not want
to lose your contacts, memo, or other information due to a hard reset. You may have issues with a Nokia phone
that is not turned on. If there are problems such as these you can try
hitting three buttons simultaneously. Hit the +*+3. If you can hit these
three buttons all at once you may be able to get the phone to turn on,
and then you can go through the hard reset with the proper codes.
These codes work with all of the Nokia models including the 5130.
You may find other options do exist such as the power button while
pressing the space key and delete
key, and caps/ shift button will also hard reset the phone.
It all depends on whether or not the *# keys work. Sometimes they won't work if the phone is in phone lock or
key pad lock and you need to get it open first.
