Carrier Weathermaker SX model 58SX060-CC Blower runs all the time

I have a Carrier Weathermaker SX model 58SX060-CC-1, series 170, 66,000 BTU furnace. The intake/exhaust fan starts when the thermostat tells it to, the pilot lights, but the main flame does not ignite.

The problem started this morning I changed batteries in thermostat and turned on furnace. The burner started, exhaust fan turned on but the main blower would not turn on. After a few minutes, the burner turned off and the main fan turned on. I turned the fan from Auto to On and the house warmed up. I then waited to here thermostat turn off and that was the last time the burner turned on. Now the blower runs all the time with out heat?

Remove all power from the furnace, it is likely the brain in the furnace is need of being reset, from the battery replacement, why did you change the battery, was there an indicator telling you to change it?

Many times just removing all the power to the furnace will do the trick with a reset, if not let me know and we will go from there, but it sounds like the main brain is confused or bad, more likely confused, so try the power removed first.

Than let me know [email protected]

If it works with blower door off sounds like it's not getting enough return. What's the statics? Try an adjustable limit, I think they go to 210. Good Luck!!

Furnace runs constantly since blower motor was replaced

Sounds like they wired it direct to line voltage , it should run through a sequencer or fan relay to cycle on and off , your seq./relay could be stuck closed to but unlikely being it was just repaired , call the service company back before you do anything they are responsible.

When burners come on makes a swiching noise and then goes out and

The carrier sx series went through a number of control systems over the years. can you find the full model, and series numbers? They are located behind the door on the left side. (i.e. 58 sxc080-100 series100)

Furnace pilot is on, pilot ignitor continues to click, no main flame

sounds like the sensing bar on the spark ignition is dirty.....a wire brush works nicely.

Weathermaker SX Carrier 58SX060-cc-1

Your blower motor may have failed. Check the blower motor for the air circulation and you may find it is hot but not running. Have the motor replaced if this is the case.
