Baby lock EMP6 problem. Machine works great then suddenly bobbin thread starts puling through the design. I have ajusted the tension on the thread, removed all of the thread, cleaned all of the tension knobs, re threaded and ran a small portion of the design worked fine for a bit. Then started doing it over again. I have turned off the machine (this has worked in the past) and reloaded the design and started over. This time didn't work. I am nearly certain it has to do with the bobbin. As a few stitches into the design I am able to pull on the bobbin thread and it still pulles freely. I am using prewound bobbins, and have tried changing the bobbin as well. HELP I am in a time crunch to get this design on this shirt.

Your machine has been knocked out of time. Take it for service.

Check that it is actually the bobbin thread that is nesting. Generally, bobbin thread issues appear on the top of the fabric and upper thread issues appear on the underside of the fabric.

If it is in fact the bobbin thread, the bobbin thread tension may be off or malfunctioning.

If it is the upper thread nesting under the fabric:
1. Remove the thread
2. Install a brand new needle
3. ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot. This releases the thread tension so the thread will seat properly.
4. Rethread from the beginning and check the thread path is correct.
5. Set the upper tension at the midway point.
6. Check that the bobbin thread is loaded properly
7. Retest the machine.

If it continues to create thread nests under the fabric, tighten the upper tension.

are you doing embroidery? if so turn off jump stitch cutting if possible. is the machine threaded correctly (pull needle thread out of machine and thread again with presser foot raised.

check for foreign matter in needle tension assembly. ensure there is sufficient needle thread tension.

the thread you see caught up underneath the fabric will be needle thread and indicates insufficient needle thread tension or something preventing the needle thread from being pulled up into the fabric (maybe a damaged bobbin case, or bobbin case position finger, or damaged needle plate hole).

Make sure that the bobbin thread is in the bobbin case tension. If you are using special "bobbin thread" it may be a lighter weight thread than the top thread.

Turn the upper tension to a lower number.

Make sure that you have adequate stabilizer and the appropriate type.

You are not getting bobbin tension somehow. Either not threaded correctly in the assembly or it needs to be adjusted tighter.

buckmanfamil....I use my finger to keep tension on thread when i fill my bobbin.i also pusu thread slightly up & dwn to even it out on bobbin.works for mine ! I luv my Baby Lock !!

I found that the tension setting of 1 worked. The main problem was the machine had thread wound around behind the bobbin. I had to take the plates that are under the foot out, clean out the thread, oil the machine and use a spool of thread that had more weight than the little spool I was trying to use.

It sounds like the machine needs to be timed, seek out a sewing machine repair shop for this service.
