The Spy Net Watch was produced at least as early as 2010. Its software struggles with Windows 10 compatibility. You might try attaching the cable to a system which has Windows 7 and see what happens. I spy with my little eye, a problem that does not include even the simplest info, like make, model, and year.

I had the exact same problem. The instructions aren't real clear, but it says you have to remove the "battery tag" in addition to the temporary "try me" battery. My father-in-law broke off the batter tag instead of removing it. It is a little clear plastic piece inside the back cover that keeps the battery from making contact. Thus, the batter is never charged until you remove this piece. I tried tweezers to get it out, and then had to use a very sharp knife to remove. It looks like a little slot on the back cover. Apparently the plastic breaks off rather than removing easily. Now the watch says it is charging.

Did you get the disk that was in the box? it should have Power DVD software in the box. (Mine did) are you using a windows operating system? The software included runs on windows only.

Usually, if the corrosion is not that extensive, this problem can be fixed by sanding (such as with an emery board) the contacts in the battery compartment and cleaning them with rubbing alcohol.
