Ocr download cannot find a free ocr download for my lexmark 1200 all in one

The Lexmark OCR software can be downloaded using the installation disc that came with your printer only. The software is not available from the Lexmark website for download. If you lost your disc, feel free to contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

I had downloaded a complete installation disc for Lexmark series 1200 that contains a folder OCR. From this folder I ran the setup and it works fine.

Try going to the lexmark website for a free download of the updated files. Manufatures will usually fix thing like this on a free download rather than try to send everyone who bought one of these a new disk. One other thing you might try is looking for a firmware update for your printer.

OCR programs are usually bundled with the driver disk and typically cost money. If the disk is lost, than chances are youll have to purchase an OCR program. One thing that you can try is to contact lexmark customer service and ask to send you a new copy of the disk. Be prepared to fax proof of purchase and pay shipping charges.

Do you have MS Office 2003 or 2007? If so, there is a Microsoft Document Imaging tool that you can use to scan text documents. You can also search www.download.com for free OCR tools you can use for the same purpose.

If it didn't come with any OCR software you can find some free OCR software by Googling free OCR. After you have the software installed, it's usually a case of browsing to the scanned image via the software and telling the application to convert the image into a Word document. Some applications have the ability convert to PDF as well. If you prefer a PDF document but your OCR application doesn't support that option, then download some free "print to PDF" software. Or use a different OCR, put the worsd OCR freeware download, on google to get a choice of free OCR software.

put in your country etc.......
choose the x1240 in the driver box.......then search
choose windows vista from the operating dropdown box.......
click on download now and then install the new driver.....
