Samsung 42" Plasma HPT4254

TV turns off by itself and makes a clicking sound. Only way to turn it off is to unplug the unit.

it was the same problem with our samsung HP-T4254 42 in. plasma tv. it will turn on and after a minute it will turn off and make a clicking sound. the only way to stop the sound is by unplugging it. it was just 14 mos. old unfortunatley it was out of warranty and samsung company cannot do anything about it . they told us that they can give 30 days extension warranty by registerig at samsung website we did that and after a few days we called up and told us we need to fax the receipt, and then a a few days nothing happened, we called up again for the follow up and told us that the extension that they gave us in not valid and so we end up being referred to a repair service who is charging us a non refundable $90 just for the check up and up to us if we are going to have it repair or not.they said that the service fee and reapir will cost us a little expensive. ( the parts to be replace, availability etc.)

Exactly same problem here. My plasma is like 18 monts. Now, it doesn't even turn on, just clicking... Please post (or e-mail me @ [email protected]) what was the solution for you. Thanks.

The problem just began today. The TV is only 15 months old. It was on for a few minutes when it suddenly turned off and began making clicking sound. Nothing appears to be solving the problem. We've tried unplugging it, but no go.

Same problem on T4354: click on and off. Firmware upgade DID NOT help.

I've had the Samsung PN50a450 for less than 30 days and it cuts on and off by itself. It's plugged into a Moster power surge protector.

At first it cut off every hour, then it was every 30 min. Now it's intermittent. It shuts down, clicking sound is heard, then it will cut on by itself. At first I thought it had something to do with the misc. remote controls (infra red signals crossing). After covering up the remotes, the tv went a week without cutting off. Then it started all over again. Have no clue!!! Somebody help. Samsung came out and had no clue what was going on. They didn't even come equipt with tools to test the tv! Any ideas????? email me [email protected]

My HP-T4254 started turning on and off by itself for a few days but now it won't turn on at all. It's only 19 months old and out of warranty range - Samsung referred me to an authorized repair store and they said it sounds like something on the board - minimum $500 repair if not more. If I wait a little while I can buy a new one for the same or near price. I thought Samsung was quality - I guess I was wrong!

T.V. turns on and off by itself. Makes clicking wound while it's doing it. Have had T.V. for under 2 years.

THE ONLY SOLUTION I FOUND WAS TO CHANGE THE POWER SUPPLY CARD INSIDE. WHICH IS NOT DIFICULT AT ALL

  • Anonymous Apr 02, 2009

    THIS IS FOR DA13THNINJA :

IT WAS EASY... JUST OPENING IT WAS REMOVING ALL THE SCREWS AND A COUPLE OF TINY NUTS (FROM THE CPU INPUTS) THEN TE REST IS UNPLUGING AND UNSCREWING SOME MORE AND REMOVING THE CARD AND REPLACING IT WITH THE NEW ONE. IT WAS VERY SIMPLE

Samsung hp-t4254 plasma

Hi Rickpo:
After installing the $11 kit and the additional $13 kit recommended by (http://preher-tv.blogspot.com/2010/01/samsung-hpt4254-no-power-repaired.html) mostly surface mount diodes (also available on Ebay), the Samsung HP-T4254 came back on, but would only play for 4 minutes. I found DX801 flowing both directions, replaced it with a diode from Fry's. Works great, $26 total repair costs :-)
