Clearing codes on liftmaster garage door opener with yellow learn button

Have a liftmaster garage door opener with a yellow learn button. tried to add a wireless keypad, but was sold the wrong one. since then, the garage goes up or or down with what appears to be other peoples garage door openers. I need to clear the codes and reprogram, but I have tried holding the learn button down for 6 seconds, 30 seconds, etc, but the led does not flash to indicate the codes are cleared, and the unit continues to open when other controllers are pushed. Don't know if there are different instructions for the yellow learn button controller, or if you have to jumper something. Help much appreciated.

You seem to be doing right thing, hold learn button for 10 seconds, this should clear out all coded items; keypads, remotes.

Make sure the battery is good and then locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this button and then walk over to the keypad and key in a 4 digit code and press enter.

Liftmaster Garage Door Opener won't clear codes

This was a first generation learn button model. Antiquated by current technology standards. It was a two channel system. One channel for a dip switch remote, the second for a 66LM key pad. No way to erase the programming, however, by programming in a dip switch remote (61LM with the dip switches set to new positions, and a 66lm set to a new entry code) will purge the two channels of their previous memory, now set to the the new settings.

I can't get either one of my remotes to learn to open the garage. I have followed the instructions and still neither one works. I even clear the codes after each unsuccessful time. Please help.

Hi, the Liftmaster 371 remote control operates on the 315MHz frequency, ensure your receiver works on this frequency, some Liftmaster remotes and receivers operate on 390MHz.371 remote is compatible with models manufactured from 2005, and all Chamberlain Liftmaster and Sears garage door openers with a purple learn button and purple antenna.

Change keyless entry passcode for chamberlain model 4100 door opener

You have to press a Yellow/Purple button on the back of the garage door opener unit.
It is the LEARN button. Then enter a new four digit code into the keypad and press the enter button.
The unit should click and the lights should flash. This acknowledges it has learned the new code.
