Digital Zoom not working and screen is blurry

Hi, I was using this canon A85 for last 3 years without any problems. Now all of a sudden, it's digital zoom stopped working and at the same time the LCD screen gone blurry. It shows fluctuations kind of screen. Though pictures are good, it is very annoying to take picture with such screen and digital zoom not working.

Please suggest some solution.
Thanks a lot for giving some time to this issue.

Your zoom probably does not come out all the way and therefore you get some blurry shots. Had the same problem on a Panasonic camera. Solution: replace zoom motor and gears. Results=expensive. Goes beyond the value of the camera. You might want to buy another used A85 or newer digital camera.

Blurry picture if zoom is used ( no Sharp mage)

I'm out of practice because my camera suddenly stopped working 6 months ago, but I don't recall having a problem with blurry pictures when I used the zoom. Sometimes, it takes a few seconds for a pic to come into clear focus. I think the trick is to just keep working with it.

A85 LCD stays off in all modes except "stitch"

Hi Toonz
I have exactly the same problem as Shimoni and Antonio with my 4 years old A85.
But sorry, its not a problem of the CCD, cause we all get a clear actual picture on the LCD but just in stitch mode! In any other shooting or playback mode the LCD is dark. So the sensor must be working well and Canon Germany doesnt repair for free. Our failure is different and we have to pay much more than the camera is worth ;-((
