JET S2204 MP3 Player Won't start up?

When I turn on my JET MP3 player, first it says "initializing", then it says "Please Wait, Building Database". I am not able to get to the menu at all and it will not play music or anything.

The hold button on the right side...slide it down and all will be right with the world.

took me 6 hours of digging to solve this problem.

SOURCE: boot error...please wait

1 Hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
2 plug into usb on pc.
3 Update the firmware

SOURCE: turned on mp3 but one screen has stayed on with statement -

ON THE BACK OF THE MP3 PLAYER THERE IS A RESET BUTTON YOU CAN CLICK IT WITH THE BACK OF AN EARING. WAIT A LITTLE WHILE AND IT SHOULD BE WORKING LIKE IT'S BRAND NEW.

RCA released an upgrade to the firmware - go to http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/product.aspx?product=420 and follow the download. Follow the instuctions for the firmware upgrade (download/save etc)

I'm sorry that the Walkman Player is not turning ON normally and displaying "HOLD" message. The "HOLD" message indicates that the Walkman player is set to HOLD mode by sliding the HOLD button on the right side. Please make sure that the HOLD switch is not activated.

If the issue persists after moving it from HOLD position, please reset the Walkman player by pressing the reset button using a sharp pointed object. The reset button is located on the rear of the unit.

Check a HOLD slide switch on mp3 player and slide it other side to turn Off HOLD function, mp3 will turn On and work as before.

Profiling requires 4mb free space; reformat required

1. Disconnect the player.

2. Download the new driver from http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/

3. Install the software on your computer, then run it.

4. Reset your player by either pressing the reset button or removing the AA-battery from the player.

5. While holding down the "Play" key on your player, connect it to the PC via the USB cable. Release the "Play" key when you see the progress bar moving and "initializing" text. If you cannot see the "initializing" text, please disconnect your player and try again.

6. Click the "Start" button to upgrade your player
