I can see my wireless network router listed but it won't accept my password. I can connect with Ethernet cable no problem. I just updated my iMac to OS 10.6.8 and my D Link firmware is up to date. My iPhone , 2 iPod Touches and 2 PC laptops have no problem with wireless connection.

The only way to replace the network card is to replace the logic board in this unit, however if you are running 10.5, you can purchase an external USB to ethernet adapter at a local Apple retailer and you can hook the computer to the network through that adapter

two things to consider. There are two different types of Ethernet cables out there. Perhaps you have a one way cable for the second one. To test this, unhook the working cable from the mac that gets internet and then hook that one up to the one that doesn't get it. See if it sees the network after a minute. The other issue might be in the Operating System. You might need to make sure that they are both up to date with all of the latest updates installed. (I know, hard to do with out an internet hook up.)
Lastly, make sure you are plugging in the cable to the right place on the back of the router. Seems silly, but some of the best have accidentally put it into a link plug to connect several routers rather than an actual Ethernet plug.

please check the ip configuration using system preferences in network option if its set to automatic or manual if automatic check the cable betwin your system and the network hub switch or wall socket is fine try also using another cable ...
if the status in your left hand side shows green that means cable is fine if have and ip address and is set to manual please check with your network administrator or it guys to check for proper ip address and gateway address..
there is like very rare chance for the network card in the system to go faulty afyter its mac

SOURCE: Ethernet speed changes from normal to zero
If you have high speed internet go to your ISP webpage and do a speed test. If You are paying for say like 10 MEGS and are only pulling 1.2 Megs. It probably is your modem. Your speed will slow down to approx 7.5 behind a router. Also Your ethernet cable might need replacing. might also might try resetting your router. disconnect all power even the cable comming in and reset everything. Hope that helps.
SOURCE: I cant connect my wireless network for my PS3 to my iMac router
Assuming this is an apple product, check how many chactors in password, and in the description of the wpa or wap if it says hex or hexadecimal then one common problem is the standard is 13 charactors if yours is less the software fills (and the router assumes) 13 so autofills the rest, differebt manufactrors use different fill in charactors so it seems wrong. My workaround was to add As up to 13 at both ends and it worked.
