I am like a broken wall clock. stuck at 6pm
and am right 2 times a day.
most google searches get you wrong answers
    reason 1.
the folks there wrongly think all models are the same and ARE NOT.
then fail to tell model or even tell wrong one. amazing as it is... clueless...
but if careful you can find the answer on youtube for most PCs.

all modern PCs have no jumpers.
and some do have backdoor PW.
    https://pcdied.com/BIOS/e6540/dell-PW.ht...

the horror, the youtube video shows Pc and kinda looks like your,(not) then you jumper yours and smoke comes out and PC is dead forever bricked,. THE PC must MATCH.

all I did is google for you are you helpless?
    learn to google first.
    and youtube.
but learn that most posters never really tell the model they have thinking WRONGLY that all models are the same, sorry not.
and all models same in all countries are the same , WRONG ! PCs motherboards are country spec part numbers, for your countries laws
and are nOT THE SAME WORLD wide.
but you are welcome, and answers are pure luck as you know know
I'd trash this pig, in a heart beat. sure would. Toshiba sux. buy dell, or HP not them.

read it and weep, support zero. now or soon
toshiba ended there forum support long ago
making them TOY GRADE maker with zero support
the kept HDD businessbut dumped PC.
    https://www.thurrott.com/uncategorized/2...

this means ELVIS left the building a fun way to say they are gone." sold 2 times too"

    buy dell, win.

dell has as the best Built in diagnostics.
in firmware, even runs on NO HDD present in the PC, yah F12.
the Dells can self test all hardware.
get a dell e65xx (xx 40 up) best.
    40 is intel Gen 4 .
win. has future and is supported fully.
e6540 used, and put in SDD and be happy a long time. Cost of ownership matters, not day1 cost.(reasonable)

    the man ,
all i did is google/youtube for you.
    nothing more.
learn that there are vast models of PC and no 2 are these and makers do not want to help you steal PW, now is illegall for them to.

Mr. Larry Ng. Sorry to bother you with this. Yes it is an outdated computer. I am disabled now with a double organ transplant and a recent leg amputated left leg. Blind in my left eye. Yes I used to be a business woman in the business world working for government and architectural businesses. And now with no income but disability and being disabled I was given this computer for one of my children that was adopted. He is now 11 years old and money is very short. So we were trying to retrieve this computer for him to have one to use if I cannot afford one. All I was asking for was for a little bit of help. Bless your soul for giving me the information I don't think I'm going to be able to do this repair. But thank you for your time and sarcasm. Have a blessed day. Tammy Tumlinson in Texas.

so sorry , what are you asking.?
this forum you are on is not 6ya
6ya is and advertisement here , seen in popup's on the right side. (wizard of oz like)
please post a question, and forget 6hy, ok.
Please tell the helper what PC you have and what problems you have, (all symptoms good or bad) is it dead, what does the screen do.?
then tell what you want to do.
    Do you have tools?
Do you want to conduct tests?
or just want folks to gue$$?
( Do you have lots of time to do all that?
You started a post leading off with a complaint, why do that?, and is a false complaint to boot(no pun),it's ok but....
so I told you to treat 6ya as the man behind the curtain, (a simple joke) and true.
you can in fact ask 1000 questions here
and it will cost you not a penny.
if this does not suit your fancy try your OEM makers support page. here.
    https://support.toshiba.com/support/prod...

they have very poor support, as a maker of PCs they are the underdog! with no real forum there. they foster it off to tomshardware.com

IMO, never buy or own any Toshiba.
    sorry.

Use a boot disk such as, the Ultimate Boot CD or the Ultimate Boot CD for Windows if you don't need a BIOS password. If you do, try Toshiba.

Bios password toshiba Sat A135 cannot reset???

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to remove the battery on your Toshiba laptop as it is soldered on the motherboard.
