Goodman furnace model GMH80903bnac blower motor will not turn on

Hot wire motor and see if it runs. If it does then the associated circuitry is responsible for the issue. Check the fuse and other components in the blower motor circuit.

Blower on heat pump blowing with no demand

There is a contact in the blower control card that can stick on. There is also a possibility that the green wire which starts the blower motor could be shorting out with the red wire somewhere inside the thermostat wire. If that is the problem, either pull new thermostat wire, (the rest of the insulation is probably breaking down) or there is some new red link controllers from Honeywell that will completely eliminate wire because the controls are all wireless.

The blower will quit blowing

If this is aair handler/ Gas or Electric.
1) Shut power off
2) Remover blower door and locate blower motor
wires and then reconnect them. Restore power If
that does not cure them problem then:

1) Shut power off and remove blower door again, find
the thermostat wires and remove the wire from the
G-Terminal. Restore power if that cures the
problem, then you need to make sure the
thermostat wires are not touching either at the
thermostat or between furnace and thermostat.
If that does not work then:

2) It could be the high temperature limit that is
inserted into the unit above the burners usually.
If it is failing the switch opens up and the blower
will operate on its own.

3) Turn power off and locate this switch, put a jumper
wire or connect the two leads that go to this
switch, restore power, blower should not be
operating. The High limit switch is bad

The blower motor is located behind the glovebox, behind the blower motor cover

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable, then wait 2 minutes before proceeding with the removal. This will effectively disable the air bag system preventing possible personal injury.
  2. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel.
  3. Remove the A/C-heater blower motor cover.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor wiring connector.
  5. Remove the blower motor wiring grommet and feed the wiring through the blower motor housing.
  6. Remove the blower motor mounting screws.

To install:
  1. Place the blower motor assembly into position on the A/C-heater unit and tighten the mounting screws.
  2. Route the blower motor wiring through the blower motor housing and seat the wiring grommet in the hole of the blower motor housing.
  3. Reconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Install the A/C-heater blower motor cover.
  5. Install the glove box into the instrument panel.
  6. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Check blower motor operation.

Can I change airflow direction with Goodman GMS8?

I would probably use a furnace for the correct application. However some motors do have a reverse speed connection. Besides the blower speed taps,
capacitor wires and the nuetral wire. There are two wire sets that you can switch that can do this if your blower motor is equipped.

You might experience some airflow problems, probably a lack of airflow, if the furnace was installed
as an upflow model instead of a counterflow.
