I've just found out the cause to this problem. the tab that activates the power when you slide the cover of the lens is not stable enough and one slight movement causes it to switch back off... hence the moving of the lens in and out.

True about the battery, but you may send to repair center if the camera is less than one year

I have never heard of this problem. But - If the usuals won't help (new NiMH bats, cleaning corrosion from the bat contacts, trying with another good memory card, turning the camera on with the card out, checking for bent pins in the card compartment, reseting the thing either by a prescribed manner or by taking the batteries out for an hour), then it's time to get it fixed. Try finding someone that won't charge you an arm and a leg, or throw the camera away. As a last resort just let it rest for a few days with all batteries out (including a date memory one it exists). Good luck

The power button does not turn the camera on.

Your lens is probably damaged or stuck(such as beach sand particles caught in it) and needs to be cleaned out or replaced. Olympus repair shop can do this(olympus site online) or a camera shop. It is also possible that the batteries do not have enough power in them.

Wont take pictures

The FEE error means that the lens aperture ring is not set to the smallest opening (highest number). The camera body needs it set this way so it has full control of the light reaching the film (or sensor). The lens has a lock mechanism to keep the aperture ring at the smallest opening so you don't accidentally move it when using or changing the lens. On older Nikon lenses, it's a little round button with a white arrow which you push down and rotate to match the arrow with an orange mark. On newer Nikon lenses it is a little slider with a white dot which you can move with your fingernail to match the white with the orange mark.

Kodak Easyshare CX7530 won't stay powered on

SOLUTION: Fot the past two years, fully charged NiMH and new alkaline (generic and fresh Name Brand batteries) in my CX7530 always gave a red light and immediate power off -- symptoms of low batteries. Today I tried it again with the same problem. This time, I folded up a small piece of stiff paper to depress the small Lithium battery module detect switch in the battery compartment, and put my NiMH batteries back in -- it WORKED for the first time in two years! After removing the paper and reinserting the batteries, it still works. I suspect this somehow recalibrates the low battery detect circuit. I hope it helps you as well.
