The TV will randomly change channels, flip through any and all menus, decrease volume and just started increasing volume all on its own. Started out maybe once or twice while watching maybe an hour. Now you can't watch a show without turning the tv off, staring at a menu in the middle of the picture, losing all sound, listening at a defening volume, or all of the above in random cycles. The remote works with the TV fine still but the TV does all of this without the remote even near it.
Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Hello
Your TV's memory IC has damaged. Memory IC is one, which stores all the data that we give to the TV either by remote button commands or by the front panel controls. It will store the data in it when we switch OFF the TV and will retain all the stored data to main system control IC; when we switch ON the TV. This process is called the 'last position memory store'. If the memory IC has damaged, this process will not occur and the fault you described here will occur. When you unplug or switch OFF the set, actually the sets internal settings will go to its original Factory settings, and is calle as "Hard Reset'. So when you switch it ON after unplug it from AC mains, it will work with its factory setting. No previous setting will not be there, and we have to reset it again.
The memory IC is a small one; have 8 solder terminals; and not colstly too. it can be located very near to main system control IC. There are tw types. SMD type [Surface Mount Device],and ordinary. If it is surface mount type, desoldering and soldering machine is required to replace it. If it is ordinary type, it can be resolderd out from the board and soldered into. Its number is very importent to note; and must be same. OK.

Check that the aerial cable hasn't fallen out of the back. If not go into the menu>setup and rescan the channels
SOURCE: got sound but no picture LCD is not even lighting
If an LCD TV has sound but no picture do the following:
Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input.
Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem.
Check all the video cables at the back of TV.
Check Light /Color settings.
If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault.
If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:
The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance.
The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.
The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.
The LCD controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.
Input/Output Signal boards.
This are the boards where you connect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faulty board.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
