Both ringers are on (base + handset), but sometimes & after phone has been inactive for a while, when receiving calls both base & handset don't ring and the answering machine doesn't pick up.

I have the 6032, and it's not ringing, I think it's broken because in the manual doesn't specify this problem. The warning possible interference it's ridiciulous, everyone have at least one electronic device in our homes!!!.

We just bought this phone and have the exact problem. We have been through the manual, set both the handsets and base. Nothing will ring and the answering machine will not pick up. Incoming calls show up on missed calls with Caller ID. Help?

I have had two vetch 6041 handsets over three years without any issues. One day I came home and one of the handset was not working. Getting "No Line". Can't receive any phone calls. Phone don't ring.
I've interchanged the handset to the other base, still the same issue with the same phone. I interchanged the battery, still same issue with the same phone. I've unplugged all phones, still same result with the same phone.

I just fixed my phone. I was using a MagicJack (VoIP) and the power supply to the unit wasn't putting enough power out. The solution was to buy a new power supply for the MagicJack. This might help anyone who is using this phone with VoIP (Voice over IP).

I'll also mention that my father was having the same problem and he was hooking his phone directly into the house wiring. It tuned out he had too many phones connected. He disconnected all but the cordless phone and now it works fine.

Hope these suggestions help.

Why does my Panasonic KX-TGM420 go straight to voice mail?

Voicemail is a service of your telephone company. If your calls are going to voicemail, check the settings following the directions for the service. If the answering system is getting the calls, then check if the KX-TGM420 handset(s) and base are set to a ringer volume of 0. You can change this from either the base or a handset by pressing the + button while the phone is ringing. Otherwise, when the phone system is in standby (no calls in or out), press # 1 6 0 on a handset or * # 1 6 0 on the base. Then set the ringer volume on the handset (0-6) or base (0-10). This is the equivalent of pressing menu and navigating through the menu (Menu > Settings > Ringer Adjustment > Ringer Volume (Incoming)). You can also turn off the ringer by pressing and holding 0 on the handset and Ringer Off on the base. See pages 33 and 44 of the manual, link below.

I hope this helps. The manual is available here: https://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TGM420/OI/TGM420_PNQX7794YA/TGM420_PNQX7794YA.pdf .

How to take off silent mode? I never programmed it to do this...

See if this helps

Adjusting the Ringer, Earpiece and Speaker Volume

Adjusting the Ringer Volume

You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high)

separately on each handset or the base.

With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or

VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level.

Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume

louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or

turn it completely off.

When you hear the ringer volume level you want to use, stop pressing keys.

The handset or base will use the new ringer volume starting with the next incoming call.

Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according
to their individual settings.

A180 just showing base and no response

Is the ringer turned off? Or is the volume on the ring tone set too low? Another possibility is that the phone isn't set to receive incoming calls - the Siemens phones I've owned allowed one to specify which handsets could handle incoming calls and outgoing calls on each line.

GE 28851 base handset #1, will not save ringer tone or volumn I selected. Brand New.

As it turns out, the primary base handset did save the newer selected ring tone and volume level setting.

However, the base maintains its own ring tone and volume level setting from factory.

Therefore, the base will present its own settings along with the handset setting during an incoming call.

So, one has to lower the volume of the base (in non-talk mode). The base should display in window: LO.

Then, only the ring tone and volume level selected for handset will be presented during an incomiong call.

How did I do????
