I have the same problem... I have tried both the RF connection and the RCA cable... I can hear the sound from a DVD but all I can see on the screen is very small static line on the top of the tv tube. I cannot even see the setup menu... I have tuned to both channel 3 and channel 4... get sound on 4 and then I go to the AV (line) channel .. get the same sound.. no video... This DVD/VCR combo was being uses and they upgraded to another player... so its a gift and was working prior to this install. I have the same problem... Our unit has only worked once or twice and now just shows a dark screen, although you can see the movie playing, it is too dark to make out anything, but it does have sound. Our unit has only worked once or twice and now just shows a dark screen, although you can see the movie playing, it is too dark to make out anything, but it does have sound.

Your unit has a composite output. Hook a standard TV up to this connection and try it. If you have a picture your display on the portable unit is bad. Sounds like you lost the backlight. You would need to have a tech look at this to fix it. Good luck.

Hello You haven't given the exact model number ot your LG DVD, so I can only give you a general solution to this problem. Get into its meny, surf through, come to SYSTEM adjust window, change the system. If a NTSC system recorded disc played with PAL system adjustment with DVD, there will be only black/white pciture, and vice versa. Adjust it to the color system thathave been adopted your country. this must solve the problem. OK.
This is often caused by the screen lights or screen failing. Try looking at the screen from different angles in different light conditions, you might just be able to see the image.
Press OPEN/CLOSE on the DVD player
to open the disc tray.
Press numeric keypad ‘1’ on the
remote control for few seconds.
➜ The DVD blue background screen
will appear on the TV.
I turned on the dvd player and pressed down on the play button and counted to 10, but before I got to 10 the progressive light went of and the image on my tv set came back on.
Its a problem with the video output...
Just look for button like i/p, n/p, reset, p-scan, which changes video output from NTSC to PAL or PAL NTSC which would be supported by your TV....
