My navigon 40 easy does not turn on

can you connect it to your usb port on your computer? if so try to connect and use it. dont worry about charging it just use it to see if its working ok. i dont know why they put a battery that is not replaceable in those. you must send it back to them to replace, I keep mine on power all the time. check this out first and see if its a malfunction or works ok.

Its either the battery, the connection where charge is connected or the source for voltage.

If you use a cigarette lighter plug there is also a fuse inside that(since I do not know how you charge I suggest that)

The usual problem is the voice volume is turned down. This can happen when you are adjusting the volume down just as turn by turn instructions are starting; thus you don't notice it happened, or someone else did it or software glitch caused it or Murphy's law.
The way to fix it is turn vol up to max and set navigation and start driving. As you get to navigation points where you would expect the turn by turn instructions hit the up volume button. Keep trying it will only go up whilst instructions are being broadcast. Try using repeat last directions function to get a better shot at it.
This happened to me and this was the fix, odd but true.
Also see if there is a turn by turn vol level in settings.

Please remove the battery for a minute or so. If the problem still persists then have the firmware reinstalled as it has got corrupted.

if you have a pc, you can use the usb to mini jack and it will charge

I had a similar problem with my 2100Max. I took the SD card out, plug it into my computer and then reinstall it. It works like a charm these last months still.

try holding the power button down for 15 to 20 seconds - that worked for mine!

Try turning it off and turning it back on while it is still plugged in and see if that works.
