White screen with vertical lines on mobile phone

I was in hospital next to the machinary and my phone screen went white, since it now how vertical purple lines down it and occassionaly half of the screen display appears then goes green/black then back to white again, i was wondering if it could be the electrical equipment that has had an effect on my phone of something else?

SOURCE: something recently dropped on my

I have had a similar problem with one of my phones and called the phone company right away. They suggested that I take out the battery for about 1 minute then put it back in and try starting the phone up again. It is also possible that some of the connectors on the LCD have cracked (making the white lines appear). Try the first suggestion otherwise if your phone is under warranty I'm sure they will fix it (don't tell them you dropped something on it just say it was in your pocket or something mundane like that). Also make sure not to open the phone because that my hinder the warranty. Good luck!

It's a good chance that the drop may have broken the connection from the board to the LCD, or cracked some of the connectors on the LCD itself as they are tiny pieces of glass and plastic...

I believe that replacing the screen would do it, although if the phone's under warranty, call the carrier up and tell them that you have lines going across the screen... they may just replace it for you.

I had a few dead pixels show up on my 8530... and they sent me a new one, as there were no refurbs at the time... this was about 1o days after I bought the phone. Sent back the old one, and everything has been perfect since...

Sorry can't help more, it's one of those things that unless you pull the device apart it's hard to tell... Also, you might kill your warranty if you open the phone... So it's a Catch 22 either way. Although, I would just let the pros that get paid to rip the phones apart handle it for you...

SOURCE: I have a black berry curve 8520. my screen is

Try pulling the battery while it is on, waiting at least 30secs, then put it back in. Let it boot, sometimes this works.
Otherwise, reloading the OS and resynchronizing the data should help to get your device working again.
Use the blackberry desktop manager software that came with the phone to reload the OS.

Sounds like your screen is physically broken. If your Somebody needs to open your Blackberry and replace it. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is an Blackberry 8520 Repair Guide that shows how to repair a Blackberry.

My LCD TV has a vertical line on the right side of the screen. What causes that?

I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help

You need to reseat the LCD cable. More than likely it has come loose in the back of the LCD

Vertical lines

do you have a cordless phone placed nearby?
i just had that problem, and realised it was because of the phone's frequency (scary!). i move the phone/base away from the tv, and it's fine now.

White lines on screen

im sorry my friend I do not understand what a funny marrior is? LOL If your complaining about white lines at only the top of the picture, then I would say that your problem is with the vertical sweep circuit. Most likly a capacitor in the vertical preamp really small ones next to the jungle IC or the capacitors that are used as waveshapers in the vertical drive and output. If the entire screen is white lines then the screen drive is too high so back it down till the lines just disapear. if that wont turn down, theres a filter cap on the sweeop supply or the CRT socket board is bad. Good Luck
