My computer screen continues to pop-up a balloon that states "you have a security problem." How can it be fixed?

Try some free WEB based virus removal programs. I suggest you install a virus program after you rid your computer of this worm.

When your toshiba splash screen is showing on startup, press F8 continuously, then you should get some options, go to the one that says safe mode. After loading windows in safe mode click start, search, and type system restore. Open system restore, find a date where your pc was working correctly and click restore. If this doesn't do it on the toshiba spash screen (if you have a new enough laptop) there will be an option called system recovery usually f11 key, this will restore your pc back to its factory state and should resolve any problems your having. If you don't have that option go to https://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/serviceUnitVerification.jsp and see if you can order a set of recovery disc's for your model, they usually run from $25-$30. Good day. Microsoft has released an update that checks your OS serial against a list of known leaked serials (corporate edition keys, etc). If your serial matches one of them then it puts a darling little message on the bottom right hand of your login screen, and also a system tray icon that nags you to buy a genuine copy of windows.It will also pop up a dialog that says "This copy of Windows is not Genuine""This copy of Windows is not genuine and you have not yet resolved this issue. This computer is no longer eligible to recieve select security upgrades from Microsoft. To protect your copy of Windows, you must click Get Genuine now."Every so often a little balloon will pop up that says "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting." Below that it will say "This copy of Windows is not genuine. Click this balloon to resolve now." If you're working on a system that has this running it gets annoying in a hurry. You need to buy a legitimate key which is included in every original windows installation disc.

Fixing the popup is easy enough.
Reboot to safe mode. Open up

and scroll down to the selection that says "020 - Winlogon Nofity: Wgalogon - ..." select that, and click fix checked.
You can also go and delete the actual executable that nags you. The full path to it should be (for most installs) C:\Windows\System32\wgatray.exe.
Reboot after this. No longer should you get the popups and that nagger as you log in should not show up either

That balloon means that your copy of windows was not activated after a certain amount of time it will give you that balloon pop-up. i suggest that you click start or the windows key then go into all programs then accessories then system tools and click activate windows and in the window click activate over the internet now. then you shouldn't see that balloon anymore

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

ok easy you need to do a restore go to system settings and then go down to restore default settings

Its a security setting on the computer. Go to tools and click internet options then click security and click the button to reset all to default level. Or try going to weather.gov.

1. Have a CD-burner or a DVD-burner (internal or external) on your computer.

2. Have "blank" CD-R or CD-RW disk(s).

3. Open the folder containing the files that you want to copy.
Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard, and "click" once
on each file or folder that you want to copy, to "pick" the file(s).

4. Release the CTRL key.
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse button on any
of the selected files. Choose "Send To". Click on the CD-writer.

5. A "balloon" will pop-up, stating "you have files waiting to be written".
Click the balloon and follow the instructions.
