I've pushed the lid switch on the back side of the washer but this did not work. After the unit fills with water it makes a humming noise for a short period, about a minute. The motor does not start running. The troubleshooting guide mentions the motor overload protector which is suppose to reset the timer automatically in 2 to 3 minutes. I waited and it didn't work either. Can someone tell me of other options?

I only have three sweat shirts in a full tub of water. I don't think the weight is a problem. I checked my level and my side to side was about 1/8 of bubble off level. I shimmed up this side but still didn't solve anything. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have a Speed queen model swt221wn and it fills and won't spin just humms but it will spin after I drain the water out manually? Any ideas? Capacitor on the motor??
