Cdr20 drawer is jammed ERROR message

Drawer jammed when CD was loading into CDR20 on A side when making a recording. Likely CD was not seated flat in drawer. After removal of CD the drawer was manually pressed shut. Next time open drawer button was pushed display toggled back and forth between open and shut and then ERROR message came on. Drawer does not open up automatically at this point. After pressing open drawer button ERROR message comes on and drawer remains closed.

I am on my 3rd harman-kardon CDR2 unit- and always the same problem arises; one of the cd doors eventually jam rendering the unit useless for me. I prefer stand alone units and HK reproduces well (sound quality-wise) but this damn flaw is so upsetting. Also stand alone cdrs are harder to find as they are being phased out of the industry.  Any suggestions on how to fix tray-jams?\

My hi-fi HCD - GZR88D system refuses to turn on,and its displaying ''mech error'' message. Please help how to fix this.

That means there is something wrong with the mechanism of the CD. The best thing you can do is look inside and see if anything is damaged or stuck in the CD unit. If the drawer doesn't come out at all, it could be that the belt that makes it move is off or broken. I should imagine that could trigger that error message.

Cambridge Audio AZUR 840C Transport Jamming when disk is loaded

The above comment is complete and utter nonsence !
Here's what you do . Take the lid off , take off the top of the cd transport marked "CD 1 Low Jitter Compact Disc Transport" held on with 2 screws , rince it under warm water (its made of plastic) and refit . Its a build up of dust . Yoy will have to do this every 2-3 years . P.S Leave on "stand-by" because you will do more damage to the circuit boards by cutting the power continually .

Lexmark T644 Drawer 2 Missing error message but drawer 2 is in place. Drawer 2 always has problems pulling form form drawer when printing from drawer 2.

If job prints from the wrong tray or on the wrong paper or specialty media, this is an indication that the operator panel menu settings do not match the media loaded in the tray.

Make sure the Paper Size and Paper Type specified in the printer driver match the paper size and type in the tray.

After i have finish recording and i am finalizing the the cd code OPC appears on the screen, and being finalize the cannot play in other cd player why?

OPC means the unit had trouble Optical Processing Calibration, which means the disc surface may be damaged. Using brand name media and being careful to not touch the recording surface would help.

It's not completing the finalization so it won't play in a CD player yet.

It's mostly in the manual

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Harman-Kardon-CDR-20-CD-Players-manual/id/386dj191/t/2/

OPC: Stands for Optical Processing Calibration.

When you see this message in the Information

Display for the Record DeckK, it means

that the laser transport inside the unit is making

the calibrations and adjustments needed so that

the recording process is optimized for the specific
disc in use.

When an unfinalized CD-R or CD-RW disc is

placed in the Record Deck%, the letters

OPCwill flash once the Table of Contents has

been read. This indicates that the unit is optimizing

its circuits for maximum compatibility with

the specific recordable disc in use. the number

and total running time of any tracks that have

already been recorded will appear in the

Information DisplayK, and the appropriate

indicator SPwill light to tell you if a CD-R or
CD-RW disc is in use.

To Finalize a disc, place it in the Record

Drawer%. Once the disc's Table of Contents

information has been read and the OPC process

has been completed, press the Finalize button

E@and note that the Finalize Indicator

Uwill begin to flash. Within three seconds,

press the Select button9*and note that

the Finalize IndicatorUwill stop flashing.

The Finalization process will take up to two

minutes, depending on the length of material

recorded on the disc. During the Finalization

process the Record Deck will not accept any
operating commands.

This is a dvd recorder for a tv the door door to yhe dvd will not open

sounds like something has jammed in the drawer track
on the front of the drive is a very small hole
that is the manual open override
use a paperclip and push it into the hole as far as needed until the drawer opens
then slowly open the drawer by hand
look on both sides of the drawer to make sure there is no dirt or other foreign matter in the tracks where the drawer opens

HELLO I AM HAVING STATIC WHEN I RECORD OR MAKE A CD NOW * IT STARTS ABOUT HALF WAY THRU THE CD I AM MAKING* BUT IT'S NO WAY OF KNOWING HOW IT'S GONNA TURN OUT TIL I AM COMPLETED THE ENTIRE CD* WHAT IS...

The 'static' is the unit's error detection, -correction and -concealment strategies being exceeded so it puts out the best digital-to-analog translation it can come up with.

You could prove that by playing it on another player and if you get a non-identical result (for example, it starts making the noise at exactly the same point) the data may be marginal but the player's abilities may differ.

If it IS exactly the same, the data is certainly corrupted.

I'd suspect the media. Is it name brand or CD's-r-us cheapo media?

Have no instructions

Go to retrevo.com, register and download it for free.

You need to finalize the disc for players to read it.

Drawer came off track

You need to open it, lift two tabs at the back of the tray on each side to allow you to remove it, then re-insert making sure it's back on the rails.
