I have a Samsung DVD player with USB port and tried for a year off and on to get it to play a movie through the US port from a memory stick. It will rip a CD and put the MP3 on the memory stick, but that is not what I wanted it to do. It would find the video, but would not play it. Recently on a hunch, using "Freemake" I missed a political debate and wanted to watch it in living room. Downloaded the hour-long program from YouTube, and on a hunch saved it on a memory stick as "AVI" file, and chose the output resolution as "TV" (not HD). To my surprise it played beautifully. I have since downloaded a number of programs--some from video capture--and they all work the same. It has to he AVI and "TV Resolution." Any other resolution will not work. To play it, after inserting the memory stick, I select the Icon that looks like a reel of 8mm movie film. It then gives me the menu of what is on the memory stick. Hope this helps.

Are the movies inthe correct format for the player? If it does not register the USB drive, try it without a cable if one is used, and make sure contacts are clean. if it still does not register, the port cotroller may be dead.

Update firmware

Some gadgets get information overload if it can't retrieve the data fast enough to keep up with the movie. Get a faster usb, though it depends on how fast that gadget can read usbs.

The problem maybe is that your T.V. does not recognizes large space of hard drive. You can try to use a smaller storage like USB Flash disk or Memory Card.

Hi I have a samsung pn50b550 and have saved a movie onto the internal memory am i able to copy it back onto my flashdrive?

Your Samsung PN50B550 does have a USB port for USB devices formatted to FAT16 or FAT32. It supports playback of MP3 and JPG, but not movie formats through the USB drive, at this time.

I hope that helps.
