SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite M45 Power Problem

Hi,

Your concern (auto shutting down) with Toshiba could be caused by excessive power drain by some of the attached devices such as the WiFi, LAN among others. On the other hand, it could also indicate that the battery is already weak and constantly requires charging and at times eats up most of the power from the adapter leaving nothing for the motherboard to use. In some repairs I have done, switching off / or removing entirely unneeded devices correct the problem. In some instances, auto shut down is caused by dirty/clogged airducts/heatsink of the processor, failing blower/fan and/or poor ventilation.

Of course, it could not be ruled out that internal problem with the power supply/regulator to have caused the shut down. Alternately, there are some viruses and malwares that could trigger shutdowns.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: Laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 Model No. PSAF6A-02C01N fail boot

Try removing / swapping / reseating the memory.

Try booting with one stick only, if the top slot doesn't work, try booting the bottom slot. Try both sticks.

Let me know what happens.

Toshiba Satellite A505 - Most of the time when I turn it on the screen is grey, with no text.

This sounds like a bad display on the laptop. Hook up an external monitor to the vga port on the laptop. You may need to toggle the display to output to the external monitor. This is generally accomplished by pressing the "FN" key + one of the F# keys. Look for an icon that resembles a monitor or it may say LCD. If the graphics display correctly on the external monitor, then you will need to replace the computer screen.

A505 S6970 Toshiba laptop HDD#1/SDD#1 password

Maybe you mean log on password. If you never enter a password to log on, but suddenly when turning on the computer, you are prompted to enter a password to log on, but always failed. You try to log in using an administrator user but failed. Chances are, the operating system is infected with viruses.
So, the operating system has controlled the virus.

solution:
Install the new operating system (not repair the operating system)

I have a toshiba recovery wizard running but it said to preparing, initializing the partition. please wait but it have been two hours saying that, how long does it take before i can do a recovery on my...

I would say that was too long and there is a problem somewhere. I would run CHKDSK/F straight away to clear any disk errors and try again.
Hope that helps.
