Thought I would ask you, since u have answered Ricoh CL3500N

Hi, I am having a printing problem. when I print a full page color I get thin stripes or band down the left margin. So I printed a test page with blocks of color to see if any printed out ok. The black is solid so it yellow and red. blue green and purple have the stripes. They are very very thin stripes, doesnt really have a color (not the blue like a bad color pcu) it just looks like some color is missing?? If increase the print margins @.35 I can get rid of the stripes. I just recently changed out the waste toner bottle, and refilled the yellow toner cartridge.. I pulled out the waste toner and both color and black pcu, and the fuser up front just to check to see if there was anything obvious. No luck, in fact it seems worse.
Thoughts?? Comments

According to the maintenance manual, broken lines are caused by the "dithering" setting. Also there is an in depth color calibration process you can execute. Have you checked the PCU unit?

Here is the maintenance manual:

What is causing my Ricoh CL3500N to allow vertical streaks of faded color on my copies?

This is usually caused by defective, or empty, toner cartridges. A good cleaning and replacing the old waste toner drum as will as the defective cartridge with a certified manufacturer's cartridge usually fixes the problem.

I have a Ricoh Aficio CL3500N When I print a vertical page there are thin black lines going down the left side of the page. What causes it?? And what can I do??

Hi, thin black lines are most likely (but not definitely) caused by something in the black PCU (photoconductor unit), either the drum or the charger. Replacing the black PCU will likely get rid of your lines. The Ricoh code for a black PCU if you don't already have one is 402448.

Lines in printed copy on Ricoh CL3500N

Depending on the age of the model, it could be a couple of things. ***Never touch the drum or expose it to bright light*** The drum unit is bad. It's the shiny brightly-colored large roller in the center of the machine. On most recent smaller machines like this on it's integrated into the toner cartridge. Check it out. If it has toner build up on the ends, it's bad. or The corona wires need cleaning. Some machines have a small slide that moves from one side of the printer to the other which cleans the hidden corona wires. It's usually brightly colored. The corona wires are also integrated into the toner cartridge in many smaller machines

Ricoh CL3500N not printing black?

Sounds like the Dev unit is about worn out. May also be a transfer issue.

Stops Printing Entire Page After Around 50 sheets

First, check the text in your records for odd characters. It is sometimes possible in data entry to hit a ctrl-"letter" combination that embeds printer codes in your text and these are invisible in many cases to the application. The easiest way is to break up your print job to sections of records and see if a particular record consistently causes an error.

If your sure however that the printer is the problem...

Then I would check the RAM. The printer has 128MB upgradable to 512MB. Normally you can pull the ram and run jobs on the internal memory, but in this case you would need to swap it out.
