Turned the surge protector off to the TV and when I turned it back on it has a greenish tint to the picture. I tried to adjust the color but it still doesn't have very good color. After a few weeks it now has developed at scramble vertical line in the middle.

Try putting a fan on the back of the tv to see if it is getting better. If it does then you probally have a board that is overheating. If that is the case then CAREFULLY !!! remove the back and place where you can turn on and safely access the open back NO TOUCHING STUFF !!! Mabey lay it face down on a glass table or lay it on a table with 25% hanging over the edge to see the screen. Then take a COLD blow dryer and blow it on the boards to find out which one makes it get better. If one does then it will probally be your problem board. Make extremely sure that is the one before removing it by blowing from all angles on the boards around it without air hitting the suposed problem board. Then try a little hot air to see if that starts the problem on that board so you can be sure. Of course check the surrounding and offending board several times to be sure before removing.

It would go off when tapping,yes it is a symptom of loose or cold solder,joint of the parts.You must reworks or resolder the solder joint in vertical section and check also the capacitor there for firm solder...
Hope this may help you;

How much experience do you have with electronics repair? I have repaired mine from this problem but the solution would be difficult to describe here. If you a patient I may be able to help but I'm afraid to write this here for fear of injury to somebody.
