I keep getting a message from Sonic saying, Installation package for the product SONIC DLAcannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package. It says that DLAENU.msi is missing. I go to Sonic, and can`t get any answers. I have a Dell computer with windows XP, and it was installed by Dell. It is a combo drive. I tried the restoration disc I get with the computer, and it is USELESS!

Follow this procedure and your problem will be resolved. Do exactly i say..!

Step 1:- First Downlaod the windows Clean up utility.

Click on the link above --> and then Under Summary Option on this page.

Click on the link mention below:-
( Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now. )

Install the windows clean up utility on the computer.

Once it is installed Hit the finish button.

Now Click on start-->go to All programs-->navigate
Microsoft windows Clean up utility software.--> click on it and runn it.

Once the Clean up utility window opens up.

Find out sonic Update Manager in the list you see.

Click on it and highlight it .

Now click on the button remove at the botton of that screen.

Once it is gone. Restart the computer your system will not pop up that message again.

( Reason :- The reason why you are getting that message is that the sonic Update Manager software is not installed properly on your system which is why it keeps poping up the MSI ( microsoft Installer ) on your screen for sonic Update Manager. )

So to get rid of it just remove the MSI from the list in windows clean up utility and it will not pop up again.

2. If that doesn't work, the do Start --> Run... and type msconfig. Hit OK. Look on the Startup tab for anything that says Sonic and uncheck it. Hit OK then restart your computer.

First you need to download and install visual c++ 2005 redistributable package. Then try again.

Reinstall Sonic MyDVD from the Application Recovery. A lot of HP computers have done this or produced that constant pop up.

If that doesn't work, go to:

Start > Run and type in msconfig in the box.
Then click the Startup tab and uncheck the box beside DMA (digital media archive)
Click Apply then Close. Reboot when prompted and you shouldn't get that annoying pop up any longer.

If you don't even use the Sonic MyDvD program on the computer, just uninstall Sonic completely from Add/Remove.

I had a similar problem... i redownloaded the stuff and it worked... i couldn't figure why this solved the problem...

Download and install CCleaner.
You can use ccleaner to clean up all windows and internet temporary files, ren a registry clean and also in "tools > startup" stop that annoying Sinic nag screen from coming up.

Here's what HP has to say about your error...It appears to be an issue with Sonic MyDVD. Reinstallation of the program seems to be the solution.
