Sometimes the factory accidently catched the hold button , try to turn this off first and then fully charge the unit or while attached to the computer scroll throught the menu to see what your settings are. In the end you may have to return it as there may be something wrong with it. Hope this helps.
it seems that you are the unlucky recipient of a battery that has built up a lot of excess gas from charging to quickly or to hotly the only thing is get a new battery but even though i looked i cant find a battery. You might tell coby about it.
Mine is the same way, i just bought it and it wont turn on at all. im a little irritated because i wasted money on it if its not going to work, can anybody help ??
On my Colby player there is a small reset hole in the back. Mine has sometimes just stopped playing and shuts off. If you use a small wire (paperclip works well) push it in and reset it.
I bought a Coby mp-c7095 and could not get it to turnon. I charged the battery for more then 24 hours and it still would not turnon.
The problem was easily fixed. The red battery wire was pinched during assembly and shorted to the back cover. I put a small piece of tape over the bare wire and carefully reassembled the unit. Now it works great!
