If you are encountering power problems with your printer, please go through the following checklist:

  • Make sure the power cord is plugged in securely and directly to the power outlet. Power surge protectors can draw power away from the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet and the back of the printer and then reconnect it.
  • Check the power supply box (if there is one) to see if it is warm or cold, as there could be a defective power supply issue.
  • If there is access to a voltmeter, test the power supply to ensure that it registering the correct amount of voltage (most Lexmark printers have a 30Volt output).
  • Make sure the correct power supply is connected to the printer.

SOURCE: Lexmark 6675. Power won't come on. Power cord

    Hi,
your power supply (black box) is working fine if it has green indicator light on. Make sure you're plugging the power supply all the way in the slot. The power supply can be plugged in an incorrect position so try to double-check that you are plugging it in correctly. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: lexmark x6650 will not identify new cartridges

Please contact Lexmark Technical Support and let them know that you need two replacement cartridges for the two defective ones you have.

Make sure that you purchased factory new Lexmark cartridges, not cartridges that have been refilled and repackaged by a third party company.

SOURCE: I have a Lexmark X6650. Page 1 will not print

I suggest you uninstall the Lexmark software by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 6600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Then, restart pc. If you're connected via the USB cable, unplug the Lexmark printer from your computer. Once pc is on, check if your Vista is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. To reinstall, I recommend you use the updated driver from the Lexmark website. For the driver, just click on this link: http://bit.ly/bABYA9 (for 32-bit) or this link: http://bit.ly/bYPUEK (for 64-bit). Download and install the software. Follow the instructions. Hope the helps. Let me know if you still need assistance. Thanks.

Lexmark x6650 won't take paper correctly

Leading cause of paper jams or misfeeds is debris / foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please try this approach to fix the problem:

        1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
        2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
        3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also carefully turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
        4. If feeder is clear, place the printer on the table. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
        5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path.
        6. Close the printer cover.
        7. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
        8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Do i need software like ocr so that the lexmark x6650 scanner can work

If you are scanning documents for editing or saving them as PDF, you will need to install the OCR scan software. The Lexmark OCR scan software is available only on the installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center to request for one.
If your scanner was working before, it could be just a slight communication problem. A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

        1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
        2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
        3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
        4. Reboot computer.
        5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
        6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
        7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to scan a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Trying to get my lexmark x6650 set up in my new home. I have all the cables plugged in but it won't turn on.

Have you verified that all of the power cables are plugged in? Try plugging it into a different outlet. There may also be a separate power button on the printer besides the one on the top. If you have another power adapter, try that as well. Make sure that you can plug another device into that power outlet and it powers up properly.
