Have you tried connecting speakers? What was the result?
Yes, when you turn the volume up on these amps (or when the output gets past a certain level) the cooling fan should automatically come on.
Sounds like a faulty amplifier. Technics amplifiers use ICs in their output stage and over time the connections can come loose and cause faults like you're seeing.
If you're handy with a soldering iron or know someone who is, remove the circuit board and check around the output stage (actually look over the whole board) and re-solder any connections that look like there are hairline cracks around the legs of any components. This is very common on Technics amps.
Don't worry about the size of the speaker wire just yet. Even with undersized wire (as long as it is not too long) you should still get sound out of your speakers. Also make sure that none of the wires are touching each other or to ground.

I m going to try that one tomorrow . Good one and yes i'm handy whit a soldering iron so lets have a look . could it be caused by thin wires ? i have attaged 2 x 1,5 mm . i think its too thin but don't have any other maybe i should buy new cables ? and wich sise ? 100watt rms per output gr jan henk
Hello Hennep again . i have checked it but can't see any loose connections . the amplifier works for 2 minutes then it goes into overload . if i turn it on and put up the volume or bass it goes in overload inmediatly . the lights in the volume button and input selector don't work either. What could it be ?
