Convergence problems, can't find any access to adjust via menus.

The main problem is the convergence, colours not lining up. I tried with the remote main menu and nothing, I also accessed the service menu by holding down the menu button and pressing power, still nothing to adjust the colours. There is a jumper connection on the PC board that is in the normal position and a space beside it that reads "test" the projuction bulbs have a sliding adjustment on each them, do I adjust it from that?

NO !! You can't adjust that out. You have a convergence failure. You need to take it to a shop. You won't be able to fix it yourself. The more you adjust it the more ANY shop is going to charge you to fix it. Let me know how it turns out.

Red picture tube out of alingment how do you make major adjustment

Its done with the original remote--convergence in the customer menu should be looked at first---call up the crosses or the grid of lines, it has one or the other.

You first want to look to see if red out and then if it will move both up/down and left right where off.

If it will not move in some direction anywhere on the screen the convergence output chips the set uses are bad.

The set will or should have two hidden menus, one will bring up the advanced grid for convergence---input for that with the remote is Mute, 181 or 183----if you call up the wrong one shut set off and try the other number.

It is possible to converge the whole screen there, if memory serves me 7,8,9 change the color being adjusted DO NOT ADJUST GREEN FOR ANY REASON.

two buttons (different on different remotes will move the cursor around the grid (and the remote must have a button somewhere on it with "data" to save the adjustments.

Check in customer menu the convergence first---got movement?

Audio but only black screen for video on WS65807

First, the set has a hard reset but it will NOT affect convergence which is stored in a separate area of the set.

Model indicated has 3 hidden menus---all accessed with the Original remote and a 4 digit code.

At your own risk:

This is a V17 chassis that was used in 8 models.

It has 3 hidden tech menus: With set on:

Option menu is 8270 enter---The Option menu reset will return all settings to factory and also will clear any glitches out of the way--it as stated can cause Convergence not to be affected.

Circuit adjust menu: (stay out as one wrong move and fatal things can happen is : 8257 enter.

Convergence adjust menu: (better than customer and SAVES adjustments made in to the DCU or digital convergence unit in the set.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TRY THE OPTION MENU FIRST, IF NEED DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS I CAN LOCATE THEM FOR STEP BY STEP OF THAT.

SEE IF IT CLEARS THE MAIN ISSUES UP FIRST---IF YOU TRIED TO ADJUST CONVERGENCE IT MAY NOW BE MESSED UP BUT UNLESS YOU GET THE SET BACK TO WORKING SOMEWHAT NORMAL NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

keep in mind I do this here for free and have worked on hundreds of these Mitsubishi sets.

Resetting eeprom

These sets including this one have 3 hidden menus---OPTION menu which allows a hard reset of everything except the convergence, Adjustment menu--be careful in there, and Convergence menu which adjusts better than customer one and saves better.

Each is accessed with a four number code using the Mitsubishi remote.

I have a list of most of the codes available.

Hitachi 43fwx20b Convergence Problems

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms
  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted or warped

I need the convergence code or how to get into the menu to converge my rca p52939 colours are not aligned

Hello,On your remote click the menu button and then go to the screen adjustment section. Once there chose convergence, and use the simple cross pattern to try to adjust your settings. If this does not work then you may have a convergence amplifier problem. For that you will have to have the convergence ICs replaced. I would suggest that you get a qualified TV repair man to do this for a fee. There are many instructions on how to do this on-line.I hope this helps,Regards,Shuttle83http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

Toshiba v43j22p 42" red shadows and lines over screen

6b5ee7e.png You may have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Convergence problem

Hi there!
You would need the manual to adjust the convergence. First to correct the curving and then to line up the colours. Not too sure wether you need a service remote or the one that came with the set. If no adjustment takes place when you adjust, replace the Convergence Amp IC'S. Good luck,JUS004
