Water is not filling up.

Hi. I have a Fisher & Payakal 501 top loader washing machine. Since yesterday it is not filling up with water. There is some kinda noise in the water inlet valves. When i open the washing machine cover only few drops of water going inside. On the other hand spinning, pumping all other functions works fine. Please advise.

Thanks

I think it may be the solenoid that controls the water flow or there is a blockage in the inlet where the hose connects.

Our hot water inlet still works so I may try swapping the hoses and setting the machine to hot...but not sure if that will work. I guess the cold water one will go before the hot as it gets used a lot more.

    Hi all,

I swaped hot cold water hoses at tap and also swaped electrnical connectors..but still same problem. I think need to replace water valves.

Turn off water
disconnect fill hose from tap
examine screen inside hose end for 'muck' blockage
clean screen
reconnect hose
test washer
if no fill
replace water solenoid valve

note: cold water valve fails first, it gets most use,
if only using cold water, you can simply swap the hot and cold hoses at the tap, and swap the hot and cold electrical connectors on the solenoid valves, the hot solenoid is no the cold one and the washer can be used, cold only, for about as long as it has operated thus far..

    guest, instructions were

swap hot cold water hoses at tap, and swap hot and cold electrical connectors on the solenoid valves

If there were a fault in the washer water system.

there would be either the hot solenoid or the cold solenoid fail

the odds on both solenoids failing at the same time are so small as to be ignored

water is entering the washer, therefore the solenoids valves are open, there must be a restricion in the hoses or the piping

is there flow from the tap into a bucket placed under the tap

did you clean the screens in the hoses when you swapped them

perhaps the obvious but sometimes the obvious things trip you up

Swapping of the solenoid valves was the easiest way to check function. Thank you very much for this help. Solved my problem with Fisher & Paykel GW 609.
Thanks a lot!

Fisher and Paykel top loader washing machine, won't stop filling up with cold water

The pressure switch usually has air in the feed pipe which sometimes gets water into it which then fails to notify the system when to switch off water supply which then prevents the relay to the motor to start.check the feed pipe so it is empty of any water.this will allow the pressure switch to work properly.if the switch has failed you can get replacement part from eBay.

Turn off the water and remove the inlet hose at the machine. There is a filter screen there and it may be plugged up.

Try taking the cold hose of at the tap and check to see if has a little mesh filter in there. This could be blocked up with gunk.

Water flow into machine dribbling - Fisher and Paykel GW712 (AU)

The first thing that needs to be done is to disconnect the fill hoses from the back of the machine. Once disconnected, look at the inlet valve screens and check for blockage, if clear, open the water valves and check for water flow through hoses, if not clear, clean screens at fill valve, reconnect hoses & check for operation. If the problem remains, then the problem is with the machines fill valve & it would need to be replaced
