If the tuner is not damaged many shops will replace it for you for $50. If you want to try to do it yourself you will have to remove the back unsolder the tuner and remove the sheilds then solder in a new RF connector and reassemble. If that helps let me know.

The CATV connector on my Mitsubishi tv is broken off

This is the connector for the tuner. This repair must be done by someone who knows how to solder. But, if you have a Cable or Satellite box and this TV has AV connectors on the back....you can use those and do not need to repair the TV tuner. If you do not have cable or satellite you can also use a VCR as a tuner. Just put the cable into the VCR and come out of the [VCR] AV outputs into the TV AV inputs.

Broken cable connection on your TV?

Has the screw on connection for the cable on the back of your TV broken off or no longer usable?

Here is a quick and inexpensive way to overcome a broken cable connector on the TV if it has RCA inputs available.

Go to your local thrift store or look at Garage/Yard sales and look for an old VCR. Most VCR's have an option to connect to the TV with RCA cables and this will bypass the broken cable connection on the TV and save you that expensive repair shop bill and still keep your TV alive for a while longer.

Hope this has helped you out and saved you some money.
Robert
This can be soldered back into the tuner if the board in the tuner is not broken. If you need a new connector any electronics supply store will carry it.

Cable connector broken

You can buy replacement antenna jacks for this. What you have to do is remove the tuner and it's shields, then unsolder the little tab off the board of the tuner which is what remains when they break off. Then you can resolder the new jack in place and the center pin back to the board of the tuner.

Broken cable connector

Yes, its not that difficult. You may even find that you can salvage the one that you have. You'll have to unplug the TV and remove the rear cover. The connector may be located in the rear cover or a plate that sticks through the rear cover.

The connector may be attached to the TV's motherboard or a sub-board. It may even be just a bulkhead connector with a cable that is bolted to a plate.

Let me know what kind of "F" connector it is and I'll help you locate a replacement. Maybe you'll be lucky and just have to resolder the old one.

Good luck!

Cable Connector inside TV

Unless you know how to sholder well and know how to do an isolation test on the set after its repaired I would let a pro do it My friend as I've seen it a hundred times. A peep will simply hook up a connector to the set and ground the connector or what looks like a ground and as soon as that set is pluged into an ac outlet and a cable or sat line is attached KAPOWWWWEEYYY.. It smokes and you end up blowing out the bridge rectifiers aong with all sorts of things. Now dont get me wrong please as you can repair set if and only if you wanna take that chance by simply taking a piece of coax cable with a connector on one end and soldering the center wire onto the broken wire that came off the connector and then soldering the outside or sheild wire to the place where the broken connector was attached if at all possible BUT I repeat this is not a good way to do this. Good luck

Broken RF Connector

Its fixable. the question is how much of the inside broke with it. cost for repair on that usually averages 45 to 65 dollars... unless tuner is damaged in most cases not. if not hooked to tuner then maybe a new isolation block..simple job Good luck
