I purchased mine before Christmas and it really didn't have a "how to use" guide. Was wanting to use the hose to clean out the lint trap in my dryer and can't get any suction through the hose. Sure, I'm doing something wrong, just don't know what it is.
Where is the button for the cord rewind on a 12 amp multi cyclonic eureka vacuum
CHECK THE HOLE WHERE THE VACUUM BAG GO SOME TIMES THE HOLE GETS CLOG UP, TRY THIS WITH THE VACUUM UNPLUG TAKE A WIRE ABOUT 10 INCH LONG AND SHOVE IT IN AND TWIST IT AROUND AND PULL OUT WHATS IN IT MAKE SURE IS CLEAN WHEN FINISH PUT A BAG IN ITS PLACE THEN PLUG IT IN AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.

Usually clogs are in the dirt inlet by the brush roll, or in the hose. Take the hose off from the bottom and see if there is suction, if not, then the hose is clogged. If suction there, then it is lower. Also is the brush roll turning, if not, that could be your problem.

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,
It sounds like you may have a bad thermal switch inside the machine. Most vacuum cleaners have a switch connected to the motor, so if the vacuum cleaner is running hot, it will shut off to prevent any damage to your motor. You did all the right things by checking the bag, making sure the hose was NOT clogged, and replacing HEPA filter.
Most of the time on canister vacuums, the reason is caused by a clog in the hose, or somewhere in the powerhead. If you're sure that there is no clog anywhere, it is going to be the thermal switch on the motor.
Here's a link to the parts schematic for the Bosch upright vacuum. I hope it helps you in determining how to access the thermal switch. A word of warning to you before you try it, this is a very tough vacuum cleaner to work on, you may want to bring it in to a vacuum repair shop, as this is not an easy repair.

I have the same vacuum. The burning smell is letting you know that your belt is either broken or about to break. I have had mine for a year and have had to replace the belt 5 times. Now I have to replace the brush roller 'cause it broke under normal use. My next vacuum will be a Dyson Ball.

It will as long as long as your accessory hose is properly inserted into the base. Otherwise the vacuum stays on the hose only.
