Eureka 12 Amp AirSpeed Vacuum w/ Hepa Filter

I purchased mine before Christmas and it really didn't have a "how to use" guide. Was wanting to use the hose to clean out the lint trap in my dryer and can't get any suction through the hose. Sure, I'm doing something wrong, just don't know what it is.

SOURCE: my eureka 2961avz bagless vacuum has no suction

Usually clogs are in the dirt inlet by the brush roll, or in the hose. Take the hose off from the bottom and see if there is suction, if not, then the hose is clogged. If suction there, then it is lower. Also is the brush roll turning, if not, that could be your problem.

SOURCE: Bosch Vacuum Cleaner: I changed

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

It sounds like you may have a bad thermal switch inside the machine. Most vacuum cleaners have a switch connected to the motor, so if the vacuum cleaner is running hot, it will shut off to prevent any damage to your motor. You did all the right things by checking the bag, making sure the hose was NOT clogged, and replacing HEPA filter.

Most of the time on canister vacuums, the reason is caused by a clog in the hose, or somewhere in the powerhead. If you're sure that there is no clog anywhere, it is going to be the thermal switch on the motor.

Here's a link to the parts schematic for the Bosch upright vacuum. I hope it helps you in determining how to access the thermal switch. A word of warning to you before you try it, this is a very tough vacuum cleaner to work on, you may want to bring it in to a vacuum repair shop, as this is not an easy repair.

Here's the link;

SOURCE: Eureka 2961 BVZ no suction, burning smell

I have the same vacuum. The burning smell is letting you know that your belt is either broken or about to break. I have had mine for a year and have had to replace the belt 5 times. Now I have to replace the brush roller 'cause it broke under normal use. My next vacuum will be a Dyson Ball.

SOURCE: My Eureka Optima vacuum doesn't have any suction

It will as long as long as your accessory hose is properly inserted into the base. Otherwise the vacuum stays on the hose only.

Brush will not spin

First thing to check is the belt to make sure it is not slipping and make sure the brush roll isn't restricted.

Jusy shut off while using

Your sweeper may have overheated. I don't know what brand you have but I hope you weren't trying to vacuum pine needles from the Christmas tree. Pine needles are sticky and will clog up any vacuum sweeper. Check your sweeper to make sure the tubes (hose & pipes that carry dirt) are clean and clear. I used to service Oreck vacuum sweepers.

What filters do i need for the eureka the boss bagless vacuum w/widetrack modal 4495

There is a Cassette Micron Filter 60696.If you have a HEPA cartridge filter you need EUREKA's HEPA part 61500.In earlier models there is a micron filter instead of a HEPA filter--for that you need EUREKA's Micron part 60801. But if you have that HEPA filter, the manual says you have to use the HEPA filter to achieve the closed HEPA filtration system again.

Stopped suddenly, won't start back

Your vacuum has an auto shut off when motor gets hot. It comes back on after 1 hour & is cooled down. While it is cooling down, you want to check the following; look for either a blockage in either the main hose, or lower hose, or just need to clean the dust cup foam & filter, & check the hepa filter on the side of the vacuum.
