ITunes shows this error “Disk is locked”, what does it mean? Why is my disk locked?
How can I work around this problem or fix it?
I am using Windows 7 and I get the disk locked error. I found a way to make it work. It is a little convoluted to do every time... just run it as administrator. Its worked for me so far.
If the My Music folder is in the wrong location or incorrectly
assigned in the Windows registry, you may see one of the following
error messages:
If you see one of the above errors, follow these steps to troubleshoot this:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music
If you do not have this folder at the default location and have not
moved it to another location, consider creating one inside your My
Documents folder.

I had the problem with the error message and all i did was go to the start menu, then i went to the music tab right clicked went down to share with and it said nobody so then i clicked specific people and clicked owner. then clicked share. then picked my music folder and then it worked.
Right click on the iTunes icon, select "Run as Admin."
It should open for you now.
