Check the infrared emission from the remote control first, before confirming, the remote sensor inside the TV is faulty. We would be happy to help you with that. Currently the onlycode we have that will allow you to control your Emprex TV is 597. If this codedoes not work we would recommend doing a power scan.
Power scan instructions:
Step 1: Press and hold the TV mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate,then release.
Step 2: Press and release the Power button.
Step 3: Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desiredequipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will poweroff.
Step 4: Press the pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, themode light flashes three times.

My first thought then is that the main board may have capacitor damage that will affect the boards ability to "understand" the control signals, if you can I would have the tv looked at at a service center for damaged boards and components, might be an easy fix but might not be (new boards), The lcd panel is good that can net you several hundred dollars at a min. peope break them all the time and a simple change out is worth several hundred dollars, vs a new tv
